John, I would highly recommend it. The beauty of your own domain name is that it is unique and you can do with it what you like. Once you have that, the email addresses are virtually infinite. That works well - you keep some email adresses to yourself for (say) moving data around between devices, and other email addresses for friends, relatives, colleagues, and still more for different types of public and retail. This can really help in limiting spam.
