That just doesn't sit well with my upbringing. I grew up with "Use it, repair
it, reuse it and keep on using it until it can't be repaired any more."

*THEN*, if you still need it, buy a replacement (and by that time, you can
probably find a bargain on a good used one).

That model is as dead as musicians being able to play instruments and singers 
able to hit a note without autotune.


I still play my own instruments (ain't that good, but I'm good enough to disguise some of the defects with my voice).

And I still sing without auto-tune. You just have to carefully select your repertoire so you don't need any of those high notes you can't hit anymore.
