The K-5II I just got from KEH looks like new, works like new has
slightly under 2900 shutter actuations, and came with a grid screen
installed. Hell, it even smells new...
I have no idea what caused it to be marked down to bargain rating, maybe
it was the grid screen.
I know the K-5 family cameras are so reasonably priced, Two weeks ago
KEH. had roughly the same number of K-3 and K-5 variants in stock, today
the K-3 cameras are sold out they have one K-3II, but K-5 and K-5II
cameras are still available.
16mp is so last decade.

I've purchased several items from KEH over the years and have always felt that
the items they sent me were in better shape than their ratings would have
implied. Conversely I just sold them a very slightly used K-10 which was
absolutely pristine with very low shutter usage along with the original box and
all the contents as new and they downgraded it simply because it was in fact
used.

Subject: So I ordered a replacement K-5II from KEH
Because,, with a coupon code they sent me today, the Bargain copy was
less than $250.00 which makes it considerably less expensive than repair
of my current K-5II. They've extended the 6 month warranty, to 1 year
until the end of this year. 16mp and it's general functionality, is
pretty much sufficient for anything I do. Most importantly the K20D is
very frustrating to use, (especially in it's current battered state),
and while it's good in a pinch, as a backup, I've been spoiled.
Sure a K-3 would be better in some ways, (though I've optomized my
current desktop for 16 mb files and don't want to upgrade that too, and
I'd probably have to), and this is the best deal I've seen since my
K-5II started to flake out. Now I'll have to start saving pennies again.
I've bought a number of Bargain items, (as well as a couple of Ex
items), from them and have always felt that I got more than I paid for.
Hopefully this will prove to be the same.
Now all I have to do is find someone who want's a K-5II for parts or
repair. I'd do the same with the K-20 but it's still mostly functional
except for the broken sd card door, and cracked viewfinder lens, (it's
quite trippy, when the light is at certain angles, if you know what I
mean).
