Selenium meters were obsolete quite a few years ago.  Probably twenty years
ago, or more.  I know of no lightmeter manufacturer that still makes or
repairs them.  They are cheap because nobody wants them anymore.  You may
find one that still works well enough for your purposes but there are
economical, currently made, lightmeters that would work for you and still
have a warranty.

However, if you are dead set on getting a selenium meter, go right ahead.

I want a small, inexpensive handheld meter. A selenium one seems what I
seek. But I've heard they are not reliable enough, not worth buy used
because they are probably exhausted and a large etcetera.
It's true, or they are usable and accurate enough?
