Thanks, John, Darren and Toine. Yes, I tried a couple of apps and a general Google search, and received the same results you guys did. Saturday at our local country fair, I approached the Master Gardeners table, and consulted with three of them. They couldn't identify it, nor could they find it on their apps.
Yes, perhaps when the flowers bloom, it will be easier to identify. Those leaves are so unusual, however, I thought someone would know what they are. Thanks for your help and suggestions.
