Hello Aric! First, what sort of shooting does your wife do? This may influence your choice. I have the tokina atx-pro 80-200/f2.8 and it's a little belter! Actually, not so little. I wouldn't like to hand-hold it for any length of time, but I am rather weak and feeble. I have always used mine on a monopod apart from one occasion which caused me to swiftly mount it back on the pod. Fantastic build quality and great results. Heavy though. I don't like the pentax AF offerings in the f:4-5.6. Nothing to do with the optics, I just don't like the look and feel of them. (I have the FA 80-320) I do like the Sigma 70-300 Apo Super though. Very nicely put together.
