Well, I have a fairly good vocabulary, but “carks” was a new one.

"To burden or be burdened with trouble; worry. A worry; a trouble: carks and
cares. [Middle English carken, from Norman French carquier, to burden, load,
from Late Latin carricāre; see cargo.]”

I love being on a list that uses Norman French and Middle English words.
