I'd reinforce Mark's suggestion: not only is it amazingly good, I have had
it since 1999, and I don't recall ever paying for an updated version!  The
support is impeccable, too.

Check if that scanner is supported byVueScan (it probably is). Great
scanning software that's compatible with pretty much everything. It's how I
keep running scanners that aren't supported by their manufacturers any more.
The software licence gives you the right to install on three separate
computers and includes lifetime updates.
