Cool. I wondered if maybe it was a NYC street scene from one of the times you
visited Annsan.

Tell us about the print over the sofa.
Ah:
https://flic.kr/p/2iMXAKD "Umbrellas, Rain, and Deli-Cious" - Dublin, Ireland
2011 Ricoh GXR-M + Color Skopar 21mm f/4 ISO 1600 @ f/4 @ 1/15 sec
It was one of the last days of my trip to the Isle of Man and Dublin, Ireland
that year. I was on the way home: I took the last ferry of the season from
Douglas to Dublin in very rough seas … The big ferry—very lightly
loaded—tossed like a toothpick on the waves. Everyone on the ship laid on the
decks to avoid getting seasick and to stop being thrown about. We put in to
port late and exhausted.
I had a room at the North Star Hotel booked for two nights, but something had
clobbered my reservation and on the books I only had one night there, but my
plane home was flying on the third day. A little negotiation and I upgraded
to a very nice suite on the upper floor for the duration. I was glad to do
it. I only made it out of the hotel three times, for about an hour apiece, in
the two and a half days because of the drenching rains and high winds.
On one of those excursions, I walked down the block and around the corner
onto Talbot Street to get a cup of espresso and a pastry. The rain was
pouring down, but I couldn't help pull out the Ricoh GXR-M to make a couple
of shots. It was dim, I had to use ISO 1600, and to further add insult to
injury this was the best exposure and I had to crop it down by about 40% to
get what I wanted.
Later that year, I had this 30-inch wide canvas wrap made as a holiday gift
to my partner, and it's been on the wall in the living room since. :)
I thought I'd posted it in the PESO 2011 set, but I saw it wasn't there when
I looked. It is now. ;-)
