If you hate rodents in your garden, you should try deer. They eat everything here, and they just LOVE tomatoes. To add insult to injury, they usually take one bite and spit out the remainder. My Nest-door neighbor has a 12 ft fence around his garden. On the advice of the agricultural extension service, he added a low-voltage wire at deer nose level, to keep them from barging right through the fence.
