You can own a lot of different firearms legally in the US but disguised weapons are one frowned by most states and localities. You can buy a license from the Feds for a gun cane and wait about a year for them to decide that you're not a felon or particularly dangerous, but the locals will still probably take a dim view. <Sarc>Bashing someones skull in is preferable I guess.</sarc>  I don't know of anyplace where a sword cane is legal, except as a curio, though I'm sure some one will tell me.
