I suppose that they could make the argument that if you buy a car, the parts 
will eventually wear out.  Beyond a certain point the dealer isn’t obligated to 
carry parts and service the car.  For example, you can’t bring a Model A into 
your local Ford dealer and expect them to have suspension bushings in stock. In 
much the same way, the functionality that they licensed from other companies 
has worn out, and they don’t have replacement parts in stock.
