I've been using the latest version of DxO's Photolab and, while I'm still suitably unimpressed with its choice of DAM functions, the output quality is at least as good as what I've been getting from LR6. And that's what counts. I'm not aware of any facial recognition in DxO. Just not on my radar. If facial recognition and portraiture is one of your main areas you might want to have a closer look at ON1 Photo RAW. They've been bragging a lot lately about their new functions in this area.
