Dave

You're doing well. I've enjoyed looking at all your photos. The Finches are back-lit which makes a difference to the appearance but the focus looks fine to me. Plenty of detail visible on the sunflowers. That lens is a gem.

I've had so much drama the past 2 weeks, actual photography is on the back burner.

Covid. I hear the chaps in Europe & USA are getting their shots. Only 150 000 done in SA so far, we'll be lucky to get ours this year. I think a third wave is inevitable. Running & Cycling is all virtual and team sports are being played in empty stadiums. At least the main rains are finished now (still hot, mid you) so i will now bee able to get my garden under control again. The weeds have been dreadful with all the rain - 830mm for the season so far (usually about 530mm). With a late season cyclone we could still get to 1000mm.

I've been itching to photograph some birds with the K5ii but they haven't been
cooperating. This morning we found a greenfinch making a meal of the seeds
from our sunflowers so I grabbed a couple of quick shots. I'm not happy with
the background of these but I had no control over that.

The focus on the first one is a little bit off. It doesn't help that I was in
a hurry and probably should have set the ISO a bit higher so I could stop down
further (they're both at f/6.7)

This one's been cropped a bit more, into a portrait orientation.

Both photos taken with the K5ii and FA*400mm f/5.6.
