The thing about YouTube for music is it has exposed me to such a wide range of
musical styles & genres that I would not have otherwise encountered.
When I run across a "keeper" I play it into a program called Audacity and save
it as an MP3 file. My car radio has an input where I can connect a USB stick
with MP3 files and play them when there's nothing on the radio I'm interested in
hearing.
I have about 100 hours worth of music on the stick before I have to repeat a
piece. It's an extremely eclectic mix.
Mostly Jazz, Pop & Rock from the 40s through the "naughties" and about half of
it reflects of how American music filtered through Europe (particularly France)
to their former colonies and came back to us as World Music.
If you like Fisherman's Friends, are you familiar with Stan Rogers?

My tv has tons of music with no ads at all... twenty or thirty categories.. but
after seeing FIsherman's Friends
I sought out clips on youtube..
I just don't want to hear cutsey-pie background music when I take a road trip or
watch an animal news clip or narration when
soemthing doesn't need it.

YouTube has become my primary source for music on demand.

I left the sound off and enjoyed.
Glad to learn that I'm not the only one to watch videos without the
sound. :-)
