Gonz, fortunately this was an empty truck returning to the mine. Going the other way fully laden, as you said, it would have been a disaster.

Road overpass across Phalaborwa about 2km from the Kruger Park gate,
crashed through the barriers & ended up against a Knoppiesdoorn (Acacia)
tree. The driver survived with minor head injuries.

A bit of history:

A few years ago, Rio Tinto sold Palabora Mining Company (a copper mine)
to Chinese HBIS who bought it primarily for several million tons of
Magnetite (Fe3O4) accumulated as a waste by-product with the intention
of exporting to China for the steel industry. The railways had no spare
capacity so a sub-contracted fleet of about 400 of these trucks were
engaged to truck the Magnetite to Maputo. Each load is about 40 tons
wuth up to 8000 tons being moved daily.
