Thanks to all for the suggestions. I was able to find the part (I believe) from UScamera.com for $14 shipped. Note that the same part fits: Genuine Pentax battery cover shell for the K-3, K-3II, K5, K-5 II, K-5 IIS, K-7, and the 645D digital camera.
So I *hope* this is the part I need. They told me that the latch sometimes fails and that THAT part is no longer available.
