Brian was a long time friend who also happened to be a master at all things photography. He contracted polio when he was 12 or so, at which point he lost most of the use of his legs. The first time I met him, he was bootin it up the street towards a friend and I, a couple of Leica rangefinders bouncing off the crutches he needed to get around. As he got older and his body started to fail him, he needed to downsize from the Canons that he settled on when digital came on, and decided on Olympus as the best option out there. Almost all of his scenics were shot from the driver's seat of his minivan using a clamp with a tripod head that attached to the partially rolled down window. I thought the gear that he had was nice. He was into photographing whatever birds he could attract in by the time he moved to Olympus. The long lenses aren't all that long, of course, and are much smaller. I don't think I ever saw him with a wide angle lens with his Olympus. He had a lot of big prints in his house from the Olympus. The quality is there with the equipment.
