Godfrey's mention of his ancient cameras leads me to wonder who else likes
collecting these engineering beauties?
I'll start with a Rolleicord from 1955, a Fed 4L from 1969, and of course an
SV from 1967. Of no great quality, to say the least, I inherited from my mother
a number of box cameras, some branded as Kodak and others not. One I think I
have dated to 1926, would still work, and it was made in England!

I doubt this little Fulvia Coupe will ever spend time on the roads of England
or Germany.

It was originally sold new in Los Angeles, California, during 1967; lived
around there until 2002. Something happened, its then owner took it apart about
1995, lost interest but kept it, and left it dismantled in the sun. It was sold
to the last owner, transported to and restored in the Chicago area. It was used
lightly there for the next 19 years, kept in a heated garage, and not used on
the road in rain very much, or winter at all.

I've now brought it back to California where it lives in a nice dry garage,
covered when not in use. It has no rust at all ... Most of the mechanicals and
cosmetics are in excellent shape: my shape up is basically catching up on
regular maintenance from years of light use and doing upgrades to things that
will make reliability a non-issue (like, a modern ignition system and modern
electric fuel pump…). What isn't in great shape will be soon.

Whatever the history of Lancia cars from then was… eh? It no longer matters.
Lancia itself disappeared into the maw of FIAT in 1968.

I don't need to drive very much anymore, and I have a modern car as well. I
walk and bicycle 90% of the time. This 1967 Lancia Fulvia Coupe is a Car Toy, a
thing to enjoy and smile about, study the engineering and history of, work on
when desired and/or needed, and drive when the conditions align. The Signora
Fulvia will be coddled and catered to for the remainder of my stewardship.
Concerns about long-term durability and daily-use reliability no longer apply.
LOL!

…Kinda like my 1939 Berning Robot II, 1953 Voigtländer Perkeo II, and 1954
Kodak Retina IIc cameras… ;)

Then a voice says to me, "This is going to take more than one night."
