Perhaps Ricoh sees a future in selling more expensive customized models with a variety of themes, designs and colors but with the same machine inside. This would be similar to what Casio is doing with their G-shock watches, likely being under pressure due to the smart watch revolution. Leica has been following such marketing strategy as well to a limited extent.
