Francis,

    If you have so many lenses that you need to store them, then you 
have too many.  Send soem to me.

    Seriously, this topic has been debated before on the list.  People 
have differing opinions.  Personally, I store my lenses in their cases, 
which usually dictates that the front element is facing down.  I find 
that storing them on their side tends to allow them to do dangerous 
things such as rolling.
