John, I remember the trouble I had installing my Epson V500 under W10. The 
trick was to install the software from the CD and right
click on the file escndv.exe  in the epson folder under program files (x86). 
There you can change compatibility mode to an earlier
windows version. I choose Vista at the time and the professional Epson mode has 
been working fine. My worries are whether this trick
will also work under W11.
You will have to wait forever for a new driver and software  from Epson for 
this old model scanner.
