Interesting... the MZ-S's built-in flash covers a 24mm angle of view according to the specifications. Makes sense, right? After all, Pentax just came out with the 24-90mm lens, and they have some nice wide angle zooms. However... I just read the manual for the MZ-S, and it says that the 24-90 will vignette if used between 24 and 28mm with the built-in flash. Hmmm... what about the other wides? Well, the 24/2 is completely incompatible because of vignetting, as is the 17-28 fisheye zoom. Even the 20-35/4 will vignette from 20-24mm.
Does anyone want to explain to me why it's so great that the MZ-S's flash will cover 24mm instead of 28mm if none of their 24mm lenses can be used? Am I missing something? I can come up with a couple of reasons myself why Pentax might have done that, but I'm still ticked off at them. chris - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
