Don't know about what impossible, but I am not sure how desirable it is. 
I am not a nature guy but I recall reading that it is considered bad 
form to pop flashes into the faces of baby birds. Can cause trauma and 
the like.

Might it be possible to rig a reflector (maybe something made of white 
cloth or aluminum foil (to cast some added light onto the nest? Set it 
up and leave it for a while before shooting, to give them a chance to 
get used to it. A thought, take it for what it's worth. :)
