Flavio, according to Photodo, the true range for this lens is 29-102. Zooms rarely match their advertised ranges, but are usually close. Manufacturers stamp on a zoom range that is the standard (such as 28-105), although this is rarely accurate. The FA Power Zoom 28-105 (which I recommend highly) actually goes, I think, to 100 or 101. The Sigma 70-200 f2.8 APO that I just bought actually tops out at 193.
Sometimes this is also true of primes. The FA 35 f2 is actually a 34. The FA 31 Limited f1.8 is actually a 32. This last one I find particularly odd. Since the limited lenses are at odd focal lengths, why not just call it an FA 32 Limited? I agree with your judgement of the Tokina, and got rid of mine for lack of both sharpness and contrast. The FA 28-70 f4 is out of production. If you want a new one, get it soon. Joe - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. To unsubscribe, go to http://www.pdml.net and follow the directions.
