Seeing as how $0.8915 CDN = $1 AUS
that means that 1 big mac CDN = 2.897375 big macs AUS
or $1.122 AUS = $1.00 CDN

So.... I bought a GREAT used LX this year for about $700 CDN (give or take a
few big macs) or $785.40 AUS
which is equal to 241.66 AUS Big Macs

I think I got a great deal.. specially considering I like the results of the
LX :)

Cheers,
Dave

Subject: How many Big Macs to an LX?

Hi All,
This morning while showering I was thinking - as one does - about the cost
of Pentax cameras. I was wondering if the price has gone down (in real
terms) over the years. That got me thinking about how much an LX cost when
it was released as compared to, say, an MZ-S now.
I also remembered that one test of the cost of an item is it's value against
a Big Mac - as this is a worldwide standard and one that has been relatively
stable for several decades.
I just checked the price of a Big Mac here in Perth, Western Australia, and
was informed by the chirpy McStaffer that they cost AU$3.25. I can buy an
MZ-S for about AU$1,650
Ergo; MZ-S = 507.7 Big Macs

So, how many Big Macs did an LX cost in 1980? Does anyone know?

Cheers,
Simon "would you like fries with that" King
