Hi,
I will be severely AFK ("away from keyboard") this friday and
onwards for two weeks, as I am going hiking in Romania's mountains
with few friends.
To PDML: It would be nice if I meet Valentin, but I doubt it, as we
are not stopping much in the bigger towns. Any other Rumanians on
the list?
If any other Rumanians are on the list, I am going to Arad and then
immediately (well, as soon as any train goes) to the Capatini
mountain range, Lotru,... Being Czech, I sure will not miss Banat's
Czech settlements in the second week.
I would be grateful for any photographic or other tips!
I still have a big dilemma on which equipment to take :) I don't
have a big enough kit in 120 format (the Pentacon Six isn't any
good at temperatures close to zero Celsius due to its shutter, not
that I plan on such low temps but one never knows; and I don't have
any wide for it). Yashica or Rollei? The Rollei is uncoated and
with very old groundglass (no fresnel screen), the Yashica has
a coated but worse lens (just a triplet). Both are my favourite
format, 6x6, none are wide enough. The LX is probably out, I won't
dare risk losing it - I don't even take it to the rougher quarters of
Prague too! K2DMD is developing strange quirks in the slower manual speeds
lately... Uh Oh ;-( And the Spotmatic is in modification currently
(reversible, if I can get it in time)... And my CZJ lenses are as
dear to me as the LX... I would like the LX obviously ;-) Tell me
it's safe ;) Any rate, an Olympus Mju:II (Stylus Epic 2.8/35mm) is
going with me. The big monopod will be good at fending off the wild dog
packs. Tough decisions...
I will be unsubscribing temporarily shortly, so please respond to
any pending matter with me as soon as possible. I will probably
miss on responding to some private mails from you people, which I
will when I return (that goes to Sam and others).
Good light,
Frantisek Vlcek
