Someone earlier got good advice on their trip to Greece. Okay, try this.
I'm going to the High Sierra camps in the backcountry of Yosemite, day hikes
between each camp, with side trips one or two days from base. Staying at
the camps, so no sleeping bag, tent or food is being carried. Camera gear
is: MZ-S only (so spare), with EITHER the 24-90FA and 70-210F, and possibly
the 20mmFA as well, OR all primes, as follows: 24mmK (2.8), 35mmFA (2.0),
50mmF (1.7), 150mmM (3.5). I will want to use a cokin graduated filter to
knock sky down. It has a 67mm ring. Use of that with the primes will
require fussy step-up rings, while with the 24-90 and the 20 it will be plug
and play. To me that seems the decision maker, because I believe the 24-90
to be good enough to compete with the primes, plus I like to crop with zoom.
Any opinions, however, would be welcomed.
