Taking out the three screws will allow the bottom plate to be completely
removed. As Bill said you could simply touch up the worn areas with model
paingts however it will always look touched up. I have executed a few quick and
reasonable re-paint jobs on similar cameras however.

There are a wide range of good quality enamel car duco touch-up paints in spray
cans, a semi-gloss black should give you the best match.

If there are areas of chipped paint you might be best off smoothing the edges
of the chipped paint areas using 1600 wet-and-dry abrasive sheet. After you've
finished preparing the areas then it should be thoroughly cleaned of dust and
grease using methylated spirits (or similar) on a rag.

You can then rest it on a couple of up-turned film canisters placed on a large
piece of news sheet and spray away. I have not experienced problems with paint
peeling though lack of priming however the brass colour will only completely
disappear after several coats.

Spray many light even coats rather than a couple of heavy ones. The paint must
be left to dry between coats however you can speed up the drying process by
placing a desk lamp with an incandescent globe over the job. Good luck.
