When Pentax released the MZ/ZX-5, I liked it very much. Traditional design with AF, that's what I was waiting for. Unfortunately, I was turned off by it poor viewfinder (personal judgement only). I even owned the MZ-M which was a joy to use, almost. Almost, because I couldn't focus accurately without the 2X magnifer. I tried hard, but didn't work. I sold it eventually and have sticked with my MX and Z-1p since. Now I can afford either 31/1.8 or MZ-S, but not both (sadly). But the the question appeared, should I buy the MZ-S when the digital/film future is uncertain (to me anyway). I think I will just wait and see. As an amateur Pentax user who care about quality (but not super rich), I think MZ-S is an ok product. But I think it has come a bit late. That's my own judgement only of course.
