It seems that half of the z-1/pz-1/p ever made have cracked at the battery
compartment door. The plastic there is so thin and flimsy. My z-1 lost a
small chunk of plastic off this spot about 5 years ago. Nothing else has
ever gone wrong though. Somewhere else on the list the issue of door sealing
was mentioned regarding the z-1. I have noticed that there is a problem with
the dust sealing of my z-1. Every now and then, dust gets into the back. I'm
not sure if there is a 'fix' for this or not, but it can be annoying.

As for Mathias Klum using Nikon gear, if they are going to give the stuff
away as sponsorships, you'd be crazy not to use it wouldn't you?

Cheers

Shaun.

The only thing on my PZ-1 to require repair to date (I've had it since
Christmas 1995) is, in fact, the bottom plate. It cracked next to the
battery
compartment door.
