I have this grip which I've used both on an ZX-5n and ZX-50. > any advantages in handling? I guess there's a shutter button on the grip, > anything else on it? Does it really make vertical shooting easier, and I haven't really seen an advantage in holding it like some people claim in normal usage. However, I had my camera on a monopod the last two nights (demolition derby, yeah!), and I do think it was advantageous there when it comes to the way I was using it. > doesn't it make the camera too heavy? There's times where I take it off so that I can shave some weight (ie, I went on a hike recently where I loaded up my backpack with the speed graphic and full kit to match; two 35mm bodies, two lenses [one for each], and tripod: I pulled the battery grip to shave off the extra weight). On the other hand, it does make your little ZX/MZ bodies much more impressive looking... especially when paired with the AF 35-70 2.8 and a monopod. I may not know what I'm doing, but at least I've got a big looking camera! :) Also, there's times where its useful to be able to walk into any minimarket and buy a set of AA batteries, which I've done on occasion when in an unfamilar town on a holiday weekend. -- http://www.infotainment.org "The destructive character is cheerful." - Walter Benjamin
