My older B+W filters have brass bodies, my newer B+W filters have aluminum bodies. I prefer protective filters on the front of my lenses, most of mine are SMC Pentax, I am gradually switching the rest to SMC Pentax. I have B+W 77mm & 49mm circular polarizer & KR3 warming filters, these are coated but not multicoated.. I recently bought a slim series 43mm Heliopan multicoated KR3 filter for the drop in holder of the 600/4.0, it took about 4 months to get from the date that I ordered it. This filter is brass bodied. Both Heliopan and B+W use Schott optical glass. The Heliopan site is http://www.heliopan.de -- David S. Nature and wildlife photography http://www.sheppardphotos.com
