I said: > However, a 28mm lens is really not a proper replacement for a 24mm > lens. Let's face it - once you've used a 24mm lens, you're not > going to be happy with a 28mm "telephoto" (<g>) lens - you've got > to have another 24mm lens or even something w-i-d-e-r - <g>.
Actually, I didn't think of my own direct experience related to the above before sending it. I also used to have a 24/2.8 lens (an "A" version), as well as a couple of 28mm lenses at that time, and an A 20/2.8. What I found happening was that I did often use a 28mm lens when I wanted "wide", but I generally went with the 20/2.8 when I wanted "w-i-d-e-r", usually "bypassing" the 24/2.8. So, I eventually "liberated" the 24/2.8, sending it along to a good home where it would not be so neglected - <g>. Fred
