I keep a roll of Kodak 400CN in the bag as backup and have shot 5-6 rolls over the year.I find it pleasing, yes maybe a bit contrasty, but thats find for me:) I get the lab to print the proofs on colour paper for two reasons: 1-Its cheaper by $0.10 a print 2-Sometimes i get a nice sepia print out of it.
Dave ---- Begin Original Message ---- From: "Rob Brigham" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> The Kodak seems to have a higher contrast and more dramatic effect, whereas the Ilford is more 'creamy'. I absolutely love the Ilford. You should bear in mind though, that many processors will automatically assume you want it printed sepia - hey why else would you use black and whitre, eh? Ideally you want it printed on true B&W paper, but failing that I would recommend giving the printer an example of the sort of colouration you want - and stress NOT SEPIA!!!
