My 645 came in last night...Its actually much larger and heavier than I
remember it being when I played with it in teh store (which means the 6x7
must be mammoth compared to what I remember). Needless to say, I'm quite
happy...

However, I've got some questions..

First off, it came with the matte grid screen.. does anyone here have a
microprism/split screen available for sale?

Second, it has no straps and lugs.. see above, however, I'm assuming the
answer to that is going to be "no."

Third, the LCD has a label next to it that says ISO, Av, Tv, yet when
switching through modes, there doesn't ever appear to be a corresponding
mark or anything next to those labels. IE, when its in Tv Program, it'll
just say AUTO: 1000 (or whatever shutter speed), there's no dot next to
the Tv label.. Is this normal, and then what are teh stupid labels for?

Fourth, I'm utterly baffled by the eyeccup thats on it. The manual said
you can just remove the "small" eyecup, and the oversized eyecup has a
screw to remove.. this eyecup, if it can be called that, is definatly
fixed, but its already pretty monsterous. There doesn't appear to be a
screw, and its not like the whole thing extends rubber very far (well, at
all, really), its more like a big flat disc. Is this regular cup? The
large cup? No cup? Its simply labled Pentax 645.

Fifth, there appears to be oil on the aperature blades, however, they
appear to work fine.. should I be overly concerned and return the lens no
matter what? I'm probably going to complain and see if they'll discount
the price for me on it.

I wish it would stop raining, now, so I could take it outside and give it
a real test..

Oh, yes, one last question.. how many here have used the Russian lenses
and the mount converter? What's their opinion on this? I've got a Russian
fisheye for my ZX-5n, and I'm quite happy, but it doesn't have any mount
convertors or anything..
