Christian,
Dan;
Can he use the viewfinders ok? My 6 year old daughter has major issues with
P&S viewfinders. She does great with the Optio330 by using the LCD. She
also loves the optio for "instant gratification" and movie function.
Obviously a $300 digital is not right for a 6 year old...BUT what about a
cheaper digital? I know there are a few 640x480 digitals out there and also
some "relatively" inexpensive 1mp digitals. My experience is that kids want
to see their results right away so digital is the best way to go.

He hasn't had a problem with viewfinders that I've noticed. Watching him use a camera is very disconcertinghe and the camera never seem to stop moving and neither of them appear to be moving in the same direction, but his prints don't have any noticeable framing problems or blur at 4"x6".
I'll check on some of the cheap digitals, too.
Thanks,
Dan Scott
