Bob,

The history is a confusing read, but you might mean Knut's son, Svein, whom
he installed as ruler in Norway in 1030.  Canute the Great was Sveinsson
Knut.  Svein was deposed in Norway by Magnus I Olaffson, after Knut's death
in Shaftsbury in 1035.  Knut's empire dissapated after his death because his
sons were unable to retain what their father had gained.

As I said it's very muddled, and this is a small piece.  It's also very OT,
but at least it's not an insult to anybody, I hope.
