Dan,

The word I use is sterile or antiseptic.  I have seen it quite often
and don't particularly like it either.  The pictures almost seem to
lack substance.  There should be more texture.  Almost like watching a
football game played on astro turf.  At the end of the game, after all
that rough and tumble, everyone's uniform is squeaky clean.
