Could be. I personally didn't own a CD for many years because they just didn't sound right to me. No scratches, no noise, no vibrancy, too much annoying silence in the background. I grew up with Phil Spector's wall of sound, and no-noise CD's just didn't satisfy me. Now, many years later, I like live CD's... but still can't get excited about studio cuts on CD. Here's a couple of shots that do not have so much difference between the subject and the background. I think the hummer photo was an extreme example. www.photolin.com/hummer/aDSC_0048.jpg www.photolin.com/hummer/aDSC_0035a.jpg BTW, I'm especially pleased with these shots, considering the heron shot was handheld and the eagle with a monopod. The location is Lynx Lake near Prescott, AZ for those who might want to photograph eagles in Arizona. This one has been banded, as you can see from the blue wrap on its left leg. It has a mate and a nest nearby. I'm hoping Pentax will actually introduce a DSLR before spring so I can take it up there before they migrate back north. -- John Mustarde www.photolin.com
