depends on the expectations of the buyers. the 1280 on Premium Glossy or similar paper can last up to 25 years under ideal display conditions. i think that it will be fine so long as you are up front about just exactly how archival these prints are likely to be. the prices i quoted assumed that you were not doing archival processing. if you owned an Epson printer with archival inks, i think charging 40% more for prints from it would be appropriate. if you have to go 3rd party, then prices go way up since your costs go way up. if the gallery insists on photographic prints, then you need to find a place that will do archival processed digital prints. Galen Rowell recommended a company now called Autumn Color and they advertise in Outdoor Photographer. be prepared to pay stiff prices and charge at least 3 times what you pay. i doubt the gallery will go for it.
