P�l, I have the Scan Dual II and find it just great for negatives. Slides, however are a different story. It doesn't have the dynamic range to scan high contrast slides to my satisfaction. It just won't pick up the deep shadows very well. Other than that, I like the unit quite well. It sounds like the III version might be a reasonable choice.
