Pentax could step into the digital arena at this time with a camera that is technically equivalent to anything out there now. The technology is not exclusive. The unknown issue is only where will Pentax position their new camera? My take on this ...it will likely be a mid range model with the film version replacing the MZ5n/MZ3. This would leave the MZ-S as the top of the line and the MZ60 or its replacement as the 3rd, entry level body. Personally I think digital is at a point that anyone introducing a digital SLR at a consumer price, as opposed to prosumer/pro level camera, has an excellent chance of capturing a major market share of digital. Pentax has some excellent P&S digital cameras and if they introduced such an SLR aimed at the consumer market they could regain the prominence they once had as a camera manufacture. Well that's my two cents worth!
