If some of you remember, I recently purchased LX number five. This is the
first one that I have seen with the 'sticky mirror' problem. Very
fascinating.
While up in NYC I sent the camera to Pentax Colorado. I received a letter
here stating that for:
Repair or replacement of parts as needed. Cleaning and calibration of all
functions to ensure proper working order.
Replacement and lubrication of worn gears, tension springs and levers.
Align film spacing and exposure counter mechanisms.
Repair of mirror mechanism including worn shock absorbers, springs and
levers. Clean and lubricate for proper operation. Adjust proper mirror
angle.
Requires repair of mirror box and transport, all will be checked and
cleaned to good working order.
the price for parts is $30. The labor is $110. With shipping the total
should be $146.
I okayed the repair and will inform the list of the details.
