there are FA in both silver and black though I have never gotten my
hands on a black one.

I got the 80-320 for two reasons:  that extra bit of reach and it felt
a lot better in manual focus.   the 100-300 was looser and lacked any
kind of smooth focus imo.

I am sure other opinions will be much more founded on longer broader
experience but I like the 80-320
