In the course of making nearly 1000 12x16 prints over the last few years I've done quite a bit of comparison testing. On my Epson 1200 a print from a 600 dpi scan is far superior to one from a 300 dpi scan. The difference in sharpness is easily seen. As for memory I have 768 megs of RAM in a G3 Mac, and use a 60 gig firewire drive for a PhotoShop scratch disk. It can handle a 350 meg file without a hiccup. Paul Stenquist
