I wouldn't buy one. If you want soft pictures, it is a simple matter to make soft pictures with a sharp lens. However, if you want sharp pictures, there is no way to get them using a soft lens. Other people may disagree but this is taken directly from my experience, and I've been in photography since the 1950's.
Now, if you want to talk digital pictures and digital manipulation of your images, that's another subject.
