I had a great shoot this morning with a new model. She's a bubbly 30
year old who could easily pass for 20. But most importantly, she was
full of life and really into role playing. I shot three rolls of Ilford

flash firing into a reflector. I set up another big reflector to bounce
back some of the window light. Hope to get some nice prints.

Hi Paul,

I've been trying to consciously improve my portraits by becoming more aware of standard poses and ways of interacting with subjects (mostly because my son and wife will no longer allow me to take theirs). When you say your model was really into role playing, what do you mean? Is this a technique to get people to loosen up in front of the camera?
