Some points... The Av wheel is on the body, not the lens. On the lens it's still just called the aperture ring; on the body, the control is called an Av wheel/switch.
Yup, the lower-end cameras have used Av toggle switches. The MZ-50 was the first, followed by the MZ-30, and now the MZ-60. This means that they won't work properly with any lens that lacks the "A" setting on the aperture ring. I don't mind Av wheels, since they can be spun very quickly and easily, but I hate Av toggle switches. chris On Sun, 24 Nov 2002, William Robb wrote: > > > Isn't the AV wheel the one on the lens? > > > > > > William Robb > > > > > > > Yes, unless it's one of the N**** lenses without an aperture > "wheel". > > I suppose so, but for once, I was trying to stay on topic, and > not mention N****. > Doesn't the MZ-30 use an AV wheel? > I know I had my 77 on a low end body to try it out when I picked > it up, and the camera had a horrid little wheel on the back/top > of the camera, and I couldn't use the lens control with it. > It wan't something I thought was a good idea. > Bad ergonomics. > > William Robb > > >
