It's a different medium. The only reason they do now is to reduce the learning curve for those familiar with film cameras. So I really am willing to bet that in 5-15 years digital cameras have their own conventions, new ones. F-stops are a mathmatical relationship of focal length and aperture diameter. The only reason to keep them around is because focal lengths and aperture diameters are described using numbers. William Robb
